“Health Matters” came together as a collaborative effort between artist Rebecca Thompson and sanofi-aventis Tucson Headquarters.
In order to provide a tangible reminder that we are all individuals yet interdependent with one another and our environment the question was posed “What is health?” Answers were collected from sanofi-aventis headquarters around the globe resulting in numerous interesting quotes in varied languages.
Health, both personally and environmentally is vital to sanofi-aventis. To maintain the ethics of sustainability, each component used in the “Health Matters” sculpture is reclaimed or recycled from the Arizona Region.
Most of the sculpture will be given away as a gift to visitors leaving only the interior maze and sandstone as a reminder that life is a maze and finding the solution to important scientific discoveries concerning global health is often maze-like in its process. We hope that each piece that travels from the Tucson headquarters to a new location in the world will carry with it a message of hope for the future.
